I had the best night. I started out smoking with michael jackson and some of my best friends and ended up dancing to some pretty cool, kind of old school r'n'b house tunes at Kraniche bei den Elbbrücken.
I felt a little bit like being thrown back into the 90ies. Must have been great at the Front, the first real house club in Germany. Note: Hamburg, not Berlin!
Still I feel this city has very much potential. There are some really talented people around and it's great so see them developing something new and taking part in this process myself. But it's also just about enjoying the moment.

Beam me to California, please. I want to taste the fresh air of orange groves and lie with you under the lo-fi-stars.

Nice edit by my darling John Talabot: https://soundcloud.com/john-talabot/peaking-lights-beautiful-son

Keep in mind: Everything published on the label Ghostly International is gold. My outstanding favourite is Dauwd though. The British producer unfortunately hardly showed up in Germany (missed him playing the Dockville festival last year), but he recently made a remix for COMA from Cologne and subsequently had a gig with them, so I hope there's more to come!

I like how Heat Division is meandering darkly and somehow unpredictable and not "clean". The echoes and voice snippets set me in a mood of subliminal tension which is never really unloaded. Feels like being pulled under water or into a misty area by undefinable, not really human creatures (I might be influenced by the art work?).
Dauwd works a lot with field recordings and I feel there's something mysterious about his music which can never be fully itemized. Despite this, he never misses out on the moment to hit us with a strong 4/4-beat. Makes we want to dance until my soul comes out.

Zola Jesus just released a new version of this song which I could not find anywhere online. It is on her new LP "Versions". It features delicate but strong strings instead of machine-made beats and is one of the most intriguing pieces of music I have heard recently.

Okay, until now I have only had few experiences with CSS and web design in general and admittedly they weren't really successful so that's why I didn't become a blogger much earlier. I wish to express myself aesthetically as freely as it is possible and I guess I have to become aquainted with the whole CSS language and so on and maybe even change the provider (google is the devil anyway, isn't it?)
Anyway, I think I have to take this task slowly and as long as I'm still a noob, I'll just rip music from Youtube and hope you like it. This blog doesn't have any reader yet anyway, haha.

It is 10: 37 am and I started the day with Steven Tang. His music is simple, laidback and elegant, yet innovative. Perfect tunes to uplift you for the day that lies ahead (goes very well with the blue late August sky outside and my new beloved necklace I wore accidently over night).

I actually got a little confused about Steven Tang as he is a Chicago musician and producer but released his first LP ("Disconnect To Connect") on the Hamburg-based label Smallville. Not a bad choice though!

LCD Soundsystem - Freak Out/Starry Eyes

Hello. The idea of this blog is simple (and probably very very old). I’ll post one song a day. It will be a song I will like to share with you, and I’ll explain you why. Mostly it will be just for its grandiosity, I guess.
Alors. Here we go. LCD Soundsystem was a fabulous project and I’m actually pretty sad I never saw  performing live. When I randomly put on his record “45:33″ at the today, this song hit me hard with its overwhelming energy. “If you do it again, I’ll freak out / So do it again” expresses for me the ultimative lust for the loss of control, which seems to be a very desirable feeling yet it’s radiating danger. It can be read in many ways but I instinctively thought of a spiced with a lot of jealousy and impulsivity, which sometimes is not a bad thing at all. You want yourself to lose control (may it be pure bliss or furiousity) to enjoy this state of boundlessness. You want to risk something and trust the direction your strong feelings are leading you. You don’t want to play safe. I don’t want to play safe (anymore).
